Mary Ogenyi-Igoche is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ubuntu Worldwide Immigration Consulting Inc. She holds a rare combination of credentials in this field: a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant with Immigration and Refugee Board authority, a Registered Social Worker, and a Master of Social Work.
The RCIC-IRB designation matters more than most clients realise. It is a specialist authorisation permitting representation before the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada — including appeals at the Immigration Appeal Division. Most consultants cannot appear there at all. It means a refused family sponsorship or a residency obligation appeal can be carried through to a hearing by the same person who opened your file.
The social work training shapes how the work is done. Immigration cases are rarely only paperwork. They involve separated families, children whose best interests must be evidenced, humanitarian and compassionate submissions that live or die on how a human story is documented, and clients navigating genuine distress. An MSW and RSW registration bring a professional framework for that side of the file rather than an improvised one.
Mary founded Ubuntu on a principle she takes seriously enough to put in the name. Ubuntu — I am because we are — is the idea that a person is a person through other people. It is also a fair description of what immigration actually is: families carrying one another across borders.

Nobody can guarantee you a visa. Anyone who does is telling you something else about themselves.
Canadian law prohibits guaranteeing an immigration outcome, because the decision belongs to IRCC, a province or a tribunal. The same applies to anyone selling a job offer or an LMIA, which is unlawful and produces a five-year misrepresentation bar. Only lawyers, Quebec notaries and licensed RCICs may represent you for a fee.
